Advocacy

United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska is an information and referral source for people with a disability, their family members, professionals and advocates throughout Nebraska.  UCP of Nebraska is a member of several groups and coalitions that serve people with disabilities in our state. To learn more about Information and Referral, please contact us.

Public Policy

UCP of Nebraska is an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy which promotes federal and state legislation and initiatives that promote the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities. Through UCP advocacy campaigns, people with disabilities and their families and friends can press their representatives to advance disability-related issues such as accessibility, equality and inclusion.  Our Board has a Public Policy Committee to review policy-related requests.  Call for Action are distributed by email.   Please let us know if you would like to be included.

Disability Rights Nebraska is not affiliated with UCP of Nebraska but is one of several independent local resources on Disability Rights and Policy in Nebraska.

Cerebral Palsy Research Registry is a multi-institutional collaborative effort whose primary mission is to improve our understanding of cerebral palsy. We believe that by working together, families and researchers can make a difference in the lives of people affected by cerebral palsy.  As of today, no one can reliably say how many people have CP or how they are doing despite it being the most common motor disability incurred in childhood.

The UCP of Nebraska Speaker’s Bureau provides informative presentations to corporations, civic groups, professionals, and family members on topics related to Cerebral Palsy,  adapted play, and home modifications. Please contact us.
